Like so many other things, Drive Moya got rudely interrupted by global events, just as they were getting going. Debut album The Light We Lost was released to critical acclaim in December 2019 (Visions magazine’s album of the month) shortly before society went quiet. A couple of one-off singles appeared in 2021 and now the trio are back in earnest, with new single Heartbeat hitting the digital shelves in April 2023 and an album on the way.

Drummer Philip Pfleger, who stepped in just after the release of The Light We Lost, brings a fresh dynamic to the band, giving the songs of guitarist Christian ‘Juro’ Jurasovich and bassist Simon Lee a newfound power, and steering their writing in new directions. Album number two—wrapped, ready and slated for early 2024—will expand on the band’s sound, blending their shoegazey textures, post-rock vibes, and slowcore attitude, together with a tighter, hookier songwriting approach.
